Create Your Own Custom Puma’s

3 08 2008

I love when a shoe company lets you customize your own kicks.  When they arrive in the mail 6 weeks later than you wanted them, they feel like they are just that much more your own. But seriously, it’s a lot of fun, so when I heard from some dudes that you could customize your own Pumas, I cruised over to the Puma Mongolian Shoe BBQ to check it out.

Puma lets you customize 20 different parts of the shoe-everything from the tongue to the toe-with myriad different colors and materials to choose from.  It’s not a new idea, but with the design of a Mongolian stir-fry, it’s got an innovative look to it.  I’ve included pics of the process and one shoe I did to show you guys an example of the finished product.  Pics and more after the jump HERE

Creative Recreation is Super Fly.

29 07 2008

It was a good thing I was sitting down when I was checking out Creative Rec’s Fall line. If these shoes were any hotter you could give me a wand and call me Harry Potter, that’s whats up. These look like if Mikey Rocks from Cool Kids and Abercrombie Topsiders had a baby, it would be these mother fucking sneakers.

With Color schemes that range from basic black and whites, to lumberjack plaid, Check em’.

I don’t even care what people would think, I would totally wear Pastry kicks

28 07 2008

I’m pretty sure Jigga would kill me, but seeing high tops as fresh as these seals that deal. If you aren’t familiar with Pastry, it’s the brainchild of Vanessa and Angela Simmons, the daughters of legendry Run-DMC emcee, Rev Run. The Pastry collections feature pastel colored shoes, clothing and accessories, and have a very cool, throwback look to them. I could totally rock ‘em, even though their target demographic is most likely black females (neither of which I am.) For the rest of us guys, we’ll have to wait for pastry to put out some mens footwear.  Keep the style, ladies, but I’m not sure names like “Candy Kisses” are gonna go down well with dudes.  In the meantime (in between time), check out these pics.

Graduation Sneaks

25 07 2008

Inspired by the artwork for Kanye West’s Graduation album released in 2007. The images and color schemes are from the original artwork of Takeshi Murakami, and Kanye’s “shutter shade” sunglasses from the Stronger music video. I think these sneaks are the hottest shit to hit the streets since Funk Master Flex.

You can check out more of Takeshi Murakami’s artwork here
